It's very unfortunate and heartbreaking that so many dogs and cats have
to die because there are not enough homes for them. It's just as sad and frustrating to see people go to a pet store to buy
their companion, as these dogs are produced in horrible conditions and sold as a commodity.
We are sincerely hoping that if you are looking to add a Saint Bernard
to your family, that you will consider the many beautiful examples of this breed that are found in Saint Bernard rescue groups
such as AllSaints. In a lot of cases, these are dogs that have been neglected or abused, starved or forgotten. It's absolutely
amazing to us that you can take a dog from these circumstances and with a little bit of love and care, have a pet that will
repay you many times over with their willingness to love you and gratitude for what you have done for them. We also understand
that sometimes life's situations leave you with no other option than to find an alternate home for your beloved Saint Bernard.
Though we hope you have seriously considered keeping your dog, we do hope you choose to bring your dog into a rescue group
for re-homing rather than sending it to the local shelter or pound, as they tend to be overwhelmed with dogs coming in on
a constant basis.
Saint Bernard rescue is a labor of love for us. It is hard work, and can
be heartbreaking at times. But seeing a dog that had everything going against it only a few weeks ago, go
into a new home where it's family can't wait to love it, gives us the determination to keep going with our endeavor. We offer
our own homes to these dogs, we feed them the best we can, rehabilitate the ones who need extra care, spay and neuter them,
and give them the most love we can offer. In turn, you are getting a Saint Bernard that may have not had a chance to live
under other circumstances. And we hope you will cherish your new dog as much as we've enjoyed caring for them.
Please consider breed rescue regardless of what type of dog you're considering.
There are many fine Saint Bernards that come through our doors.
Our Mission:
To those interested in a Saint Bernard, we are here
to educate about the breed and it's requirements. We encourage responsible ownership and ongoing knowledge. To save
the dogs needing shelter, nourishment, rehabilitation and love. And to place them in a permanent home where rescue's assistance
will no longer be needed.
A Prayer for the Animals
Hear our humble prayer O God, for our friends, the animals; especially
for animals who are suffering; for any that are lost or deserted or frightened or hungry. We entreat for them all Thy mercy
and pity, and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us, ourselves,
to be true friends to animals and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs
of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and
betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something," He replied.
"I created You."
